Well it seems some have dug up the evidence against Oz...it is curtains for Oz. I would add despite the breathless reports from the media about how Oz is gaining in popularity. He isn't. And he has never been ahead in polling either. Consider that ther is likely a great deal of Roe vote out there that can't be accounted for as the powers that be insist this is a 'normal' midterm. I don't think that it is.
Fetterman, who is running for Pennsylvania's open Senate seat and is currently the state's lieutenant governor, took to Twitter on Monday and accused Oz of being a "puppy killer."
Jezebel reported on Monday that Oz had supervised experiments at the Columbia University Institute of Comparative Medicine between 1989 and 2010 that had resulted in the deaths of at least 329 dogs, as well as other animals.
"I LOVE my dogs," Fetterman tweeted. "Apparently some sick people like Dr. Oz get their jollies by harming animals..." There is no evidence to suggest Oz took pleasure in the animal experimentation or any deaths.

But none of it matters because he'll lose and go back to New Jersey where he belongs.

(21,172 posts)If this news report about Oz killing 300 dogs doesnt drag him down then the people of Pennsylvania are idiots.
(Thats said I think Fetterman is going to win)

(68,631 posts)Jersey border. It is the burbs...and with women already upset about abortion (oz is recorded as saying it is murder) and now puppy murder, he is toast.

(68,631 posts)He also killed other animals in brutal ways...and the research was BS if you ask me...just a way to peel off some NIH money. Once a grifter always a grifter It is an October surprise. And what can Oz say?

(18,869 posts)They raise beagles for their expetiments. They use chimps and other primates.
And it's not just medical and veterinary schools. The psychology departments do it to. And a lot of their experiments are needless. They have already been done over and over.
I personally think it's awful.

I don't agree that all of their experiments are needless. Some save lives. Epidemiology, for example, uses animals to track contagion.

(10,836 posts)But there's no denying he considered the animals expedient, disposable for his own purposes and medical fact-finding. The fact that these experiments continued up until 2010 makes any excuse lame.
Reports that the dogs unnecessarily suffered during these experiments is downright grotesque.
Yes, sick. As in, disgusting.

(15,289 posts)treatment of lab animals. A vet science student I met in college actually edited a textbook on the care of lab animals. Hopefully technology advances enough so that we will no longer need to use animals in the development of drugs and medical procedures.
But, I'm sure either the Fetterman campaign or a PAC supporting it is planning to make ads on Oz's use of animals in his research and his failure to treat them humanely. Remember, it was only a month or so ago that the news of the 4000 beagle puppies raised for research and confiscated by the state of Virginia was all over. The dogs were adopted about as soon as they were ready for adoption. Animal research might be a necessary evil, but people do not like it. As soon as "Dr Oz kills puppies" becomes widespread, he won't get 20% of the vote.
