Serious question- If countries spend centuries or decades pushing self serving lies

to overthrow governments in other countries, what happens when the groups that benefit from that socio-economic and political hegemony adopt and adapt said methods and tactics to overthrow their own democracies?

6. That's kind of what happened in Russia

The Soviet Union developed this vast network of spies, propaganda and domestic secret undercover agents. The difference is that the domestic interference by the spies, propaganda and manipulation in Russia were always there. That's why Putin got into power. Why he still holds power despite Russian citizen's vast poverty, despite their children dying in a useless war. Their propaganda, spies and crushing laws and judiciary keep Russian citizens.quiet and placated. Up until now everyone thought the Russian military was some huge powerful entity. But it was all just propaganda and manipulation. It was the same during the cold war.

We have just started to use our spies for domestic control. I would say it started in the 1930s. But it didn't get real control until Raygun and Bush. That's why there was no revolt when W and the Supremes stole the election. The propaganda and spies were carefully placating the majority of people. It even worked to shut up Gore who had his own win outright stolen and yet he never complained.

It's going to get worse before it gets better unless something is done about the rigged and packed Supreme Court. Religion is going to be the excuse for coercive and abusive laws and a hateful right wing judiciary.
