https://thehill.com/policy/national-security/3677079-proud-boys-leader-pleads-guilty-to-seditious-conspiracy/I'm sorry but treason used to carry the death penalty. How do we get from that, to a mere 5 years???
Life sentence, without parole!

(9,182 posts)but death is a possible penalty if convicted of treason:
shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000.
115 USC §2381.

(757 posts)I think he saw it wasn't going so good for Stuart Rhodes. Or not, we don't know.

Man it's practically a VACATION!

(15,619 posts)1- nobody has been charged with treason, because their actions dont meet the definition of treason as defined in the Constitution ;
2- the PB in the story plead guilty and is cooperating with DOJ, providing evidence against the other PBs (there is also an OK who has flipped as well). This will help put the other militia ringleaders away for decades. In addition, the OK flipper appears to be providing evidence linking the OKers to Roger Stone and Trumps inner circle.
All in all, a job well done by DOJ.

(50,559 posts)...plus another ten on the Illegal Possession of Firearms charges he also pled guilty to.
Rhodes is already on trial for seditious conspiracy. Tarrio will be on trial for it soon. The government knows those are the key guys - the ones who need the full twenty - and I am confident they'll get it. After that, the only big fishes left to go for are Trump Bund officials.
Let's not bullshit ourselves: The guy we want is Trump. I think we'll get him on the insurrection, the illegal document stash, and a few other things that'll put him away until fifty years after he dies.
