We have to win the House and the Senate, our democratic form of government depends on it.
I already voted in Pa. for Fetterman and Shapiro. We not only need to flip Toomey's Senate seat, we need to keep a Democratic governor or our vote for president in 2024 will mean nothing if Mastriano is our governor.
People of Pennsylvania, it is not too late to register to vote if you are not registered, you have until October 24th.
It has come down to winning the 2022 election, we can and must win, losing is not an option.

(19,139 posts)But if we get the House, we can pass laws to strengthen our Democracy and protect it from Republicans.
The polls show us holding the Senate and losing the House, but I think we can outperform based on Roe.
If we do lose the House, we'll have 2 years of gridlock and hopefully a 2024 where we take the House back.

(21,416 posts)If the Magats win the House they will control the purse strings. Do not put it past those evil bastards to shut down the government to stop the Trump investigations. If they control the House they will go after the IRS.
There is so much damage the Magats can do, and I don't expect Kevin McCarthy will be the Speaker, it will be someone much more radical.

(74 posts)... is hurting our chances a lot with the Fed hikes & threats of another 1 before the election.
By arbitrarily raising rates repeatedly, the Federal Reserve discourages potential new businesses from creating new supply chains that can alleviate the real roots of today's inflation.
Unfortunately, the majority of business media talking heads are stuck on Econ. 101, & ignore these very real economic consequences, especially those at Foxaganda, that really want to undermine Democrat presidents.
Jerome Powell is a Republican, very much willing to help force our President Biden to fail.
1 economist who does understand this side of the economic equation is David Cay Johnston, who is an American investigative journalist and author, a specialist in economics and tax issues, and winner of the 2001 Pulitzer Prize for Beat Reporting.

(3,182 posts)I know, not a popular view here, but wishful thinking won't make it magically happen. Let's be honest with ourselves and face reality.

(21,416 posts)The right wing narrative is that the Magats will win the House. This isn't a normal off-presidential election year. Roe and keeping our democracy is on the ballot.

(3,182 posts)538 says this. And the latest CNN poll says Roe is polling at about 5% in importance, compared to 38% that say inflation is the most important to them. I'm a realist, are you? I say GOTV and get as many House seats as possible, but don't think this is some RW meme. It's not.

(15,499 posts)That will be the only seat that the Republicans pick up in the Senate, but we can counter that.
