(3,504 posts)The right doesnt see it that way. Theyve brushed it off completely. I bang my head up against the wall in a right wing Facebook group every once in a while with people Ive known for years and they just dont believe its true. Theres no real proof, its an October Surprise that fizzled and it doesnt mean a damn thing to them. Even if there was a video of him performing the abortion himself, they would not care. Its not going to have any effect.
This absolute dunce may very well win.

They're not changing, but it's not enough them by themselves to win the election. IMO they've lost some Indy votes from Walker's abortion hot mess and they need Indy votes to win as this is a close election and we know Dems aren't going to vote for the republican candidate and his hypocrisy.

(9,208 posts)in THE ACADEMY (cough. . . trade school) that absolutely nothing is more important than that the police go home safely at the end of their shift. Not the Constitution, not civil rights, not procedure, and certainly not citizen safety.

(15,362 posts)I posted this a couple years ago after some National Guard helicopter pilots dangerously buzzed some DC protesters at an unsafe altitude.
As a 30 year Navy man, I was appalled at the DC Guards response.
-------------------
While speaking on behalf of the Major General in charge of the DC National Guard regarding using a helicopter to intimidate peaceful protester, the spokesperson said;
"Our highest priority is the safety of our Citizen Soldiers and Airmen who support civil authorities as they perform their duties,
NO MAJOR GENERAL! Your "highest priority" should be the "safety of AMERICAN CITIZENS and our Constitution"!
The safety of our citizen "Soldiers and Airmen" is definitely a "high" priority, but it should not be your "highest" priority.
That mentality puts your Soldiers and Airmen above the Citizens they are pledged to protect.
It's the same mentality that has infected our police forces around the country. We've placed a higher priority on "their" safety than we have on the safety of the citizens they serve.
You join the military, or the police force to "serve". That service comes with inherent risk. You freely accept that risk...at least I did when I took my Oath.
Of course we want to do all we can to ensure the safety of the military and law enforcement, but that safety should never be our "highest" priority
Words have impact. Making their safety our "highest priority", might explain why some of them think it's OK to beat and murder unarmed civilians.
It might explain why police officers feel that they can shoot a 10 year old boy with a toy gun within 2 seconds of arriving on the scene... before their squad car had even come to a stop.
It might explain why police officers feel they can choke the life out of a handcuffed man.
It might explain why a couple of your flyboys decided to put American Citizens at risk.
After all, by your own words, the safety of American Citizens is NOT your "highest priority"

Or pulled a gun on one (thought about it--didn't follow through).
Or stalked one..
I don't have multiple kids with multiple baby daddies.
I'll go sit over here and wait for the line of bad behavior from rwnjs to die down before I bother getting up for the line to train liberals behaving badly.
