over the years. Their position and power often goes to their heads and they spend a lot of time and energy performing and endlessly campaigning. Eventually some emergency arises where they have to actually "govern" - there is no time for game playing and political stunts, as the needs are real and urgent.

This is an audition for the presidency as that is what many of them are aiming for. They are using their office as a stepping stone to the White House. Of course, not all pass the test.

Poor DeSantis, he really did have more pressing concerns than cleaning up after a monster hurricane. Damn weather cut into his carefully crafted political stunts.
