(10,208 posts)Usually it takes two or three weeks for the media to lose interest and move on to the next catastrophe, and for hurricane victims to feel abandoned by politicians who promised them everything while the cameras were still around. DeSantis won't be very popular in Lee County by election day.
I feel sorry for the Floridians
Soros and the Jahoooish space lasers crested it and timed it perfectly as planned. Expect a direct hit on Texas to make Abbott look bad in the next 10 days. I mean, like DeSatan and A-Butt need help looking bad.

(3,496 posts)is that it will take years before things get back to some semblance of normality. To think any politician can change that fact is lunacy.
But you're right. People will hold the current office holders responsible if progress is slower than folks have patience for.
Another sad reality is hurricanes tend to hit the same areas, so expect others to hit in the coming seasons. Though Florida is just prone to getting hit by these storms.

He's added a bit of girth in recent years too. And he never shows up to do his job. I really hope Val Demings can take his seat from him. She'd be so much better for the people of Florida.

(47,520 posts)over the years. Their position and power often goes to their heads and they spend a lot of time and energy performing and endlessly campaigning. Eventually some emergency arises where they have to actually "govern" - there is no time for game playing and political stunts, as the needs are real and urgent.
This is an audition for the presidency as that is what many of them are aiming for. They are using their office as a stepping stone to the White House. Of course, not all pass the test.
Poor DeSantis, he really did have more pressing concerns than cleaning up after a monster hurricane. Damn weather cut into his carefully crafted political stunts.

Ian surely was not on his agenda. This is a catastrophic inconvenient truth for DeathSentence.
