CNN anchor on leave after ‘internal investigation’ following fall: report

An anchor at CNN has taken a leave of absence from the network after he took a fall during an overseas reporting trip, according to a new report.

Jim Sciutto, who anchors one of the channel’s daytime news programs, has been off the air this week on “personal leave” after the network conducted an investigation into a serious fall the journalist took while in Amsterdam.

Sciutto had been traveling back to the United States following a reporting trip in Europe covering the war in Ukraine, The Daily Beast reported. The outlet noted the network had directed Sciutto to take leave to deal with a “personal situation.”

The Daily Beast report noted CNN employees returning from Ukraine usually take direct flights home from Poland but that Sciutto and his producer made a stopover in Amsterdam, where the fall reportedly occurred.

Got tired of all the "Breaking News" every five minutes when some of it was nothing new at all.

Then the new direction where they started pushing right-wing views in a bid for "fairness and balance."

Not sure if Sciutto drank that Kool-Aid like some of the other anchors, but I did respect his work during the years when I was a CNN viewer. Wishing him well.

is a hog-wah conspiracy theory. It has zero basis in fact.

And, actually, Christ Licht--like you--objected to the non-stop use of "Breaking News" (that wasn't) and putting the kibosh on that is one of his objectives.

CNN has a great documentary on January 6, that I hope people make an effort to see.

are not a stupid conspiracy theory. Neither are conservative staffers, anchors, and guests brought in from elsewhere. Nor are the new anchors we've been informed will take the place of those CNN's letting go.

RW-serving deceits are easy to pick up wherever they're being pushed by all of those who scan some of the top issues in a major newspaper as many or more days than not. They depend for success on viewer ignorance, and of course desire to be deceived.

The first time I turned on Fox's-now-CNN's Alison Camarota to see what she was saying, she was comparing a chart of the Democratic and "Republican" healthcare plans and explained the ACA's "10 essential benefits" (opposite a blank for "nothing" in the Republican column) were what made people have to pay for maternity care even though they'd never need it. Same exact spin she applied for Fox on Fox & Friends, just applied with the same skill and a lighter brush.

Btw, for those who don't remember, here're the ACA's 10 benefits its healthcare plans are required to cover, which the fake Republican plan (that didn't even exist and never would!) did NOT require. I.e., why Camerota & Others were lying about it on both Fox & CNN:

ACA'S 10 ESSENTIAL BENEFITS THAT MUST BE COVERED

Ambulatory patient services (outpatient services -- your PCP)
Emergency services
Hospitalization
Maternity and newborn care
Mental health and substance use disorder services, including behavioral health treatment
Prescription drugs
Rehabilitative and habilitative services (those that help patients acquire, maintain, or improve skills necessary for daily functioning) and devices
Laboratory services
Preventive and wellness services and chronic disease management
Pediatric services, including oral and vision care

I watch Camerota almost never but when I have watched for and seen her spinning anti-Democratic deceit every time I do. Same for the others, this is just one example that stuck for one spinning for CNN.

then god help you.

Could the credibility of Keith Olbermann sink much lower? I mean really???

There is a reason he's been fired from every job and why Rachel Maddow blocked him from being her successor.

They are used to much steeper stairs with narrower steps to save space.

Getting drunk and falling into a canal is another popular pastime.

So he could have hurt himself quite badly; I had to have surgery where they placed 19 bolts, screws, and other hardware to repair it.

No stairs were involved either. I fell over a cat in my kitchen.

The fact that they told him to take personal leave does indicate that maybe substance use or abuse was involved, but maybe not.

I hope he recovers.

But of the clips I've seen of him, he seems to be of an age where falls are more difficult to bounce back from than the same falls would be when you're 30 or 40.

I took a fall last year. I'd had one almost exactly like it 25 years before. I bounced up and went on about my day at 34. At 59, that same type of fall had me barely able to walk for a week, and my back took about two months to quit hurting, no matter what position I was in.

Things just hurt more when you fall after a certain age.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for taking some kind of fall at his age that's making work not a good idea for the time being.
