(32,086 posts)Or, laptop--they can't keep their story straight. It was a hard drive Rudy bought from the Russians, which was put into a laptop, which was taken to the only blind repairman in Delaware. How convenient. What I want to know is what the hell gave this alleged repairman the right to poke around in the files of an alleged customer's computer. Talk about a HUGE red flag. Funny how that never gets bought up... Why isn't he being investigated?
Ghouliani was behind it, and Trump was behind him, so given how much higher priority investigating the FBI's had to do, it's kinda low on the list compared to seditionists and intelligence documents spread across trump properties. Right now they've got to come up with enough facts to have probable cause to search those places.

(32,086 posts)Not to mention that it's so full of BS, it's laughable. It's mainly a distraction for Trump's crimes.
I also suspect they not only have enough facts, they're probably overwhelmed with them. Especially since Trump and his minions keep committing crimes. That might be what's taking so long for an indictment. Too much to sort through, and not enough non-compromised people to do it.

(234 posts)Or whatever, and it became his property. Theoretically, since he also claimed he saw the files while repairing the drive. While copying files one by one (This made me laugh, since any remotely capable IT guy can clone a hard drive.)

(14,768 posts)This is the doj that prosecuted a clinton lawyer for givig a slightly different answer to a question months apart, based on the fbi's notes, which really weren't clear, and neither of which account was materially false or related to a crime.
If you look carefully enough, every american has some technical violation of a felony they could be charged with. There was a book written a while back called something like 4 felonies a day, which chronicled the ways americans unknowing break laws.
Now I haven't been following the hunter travails closely, but I do know the prosector is a trumpist appointed in the waning days of his term with the intended purpose of investigating hunter. This is the witch hunt that tfg keeps yelling about but which isn't actually targeting him. Projection.
Maybe there is something there. But more likely it will be some fluffed up charge on some technicality nobody else would ever be charged with.

(6,813 posts)There is a special prosecutor for Hunter Biden in the DOJ. YA THINK?
ITS ABOUT TIME they made a referral and closed shop.

(36,110 posts)But the Hunter Biden prosecutor is out of the DE office of the DOJ. And this case has nothing to do with the laptop or hard drive.

(9,670 posts)And feign disbelief that we're not like them.
We're not. I'm all for justice. Lady Justice is not a partisan.
That's what really makes my blood boil.
The Trumpies have politicized justice, and that puts our democracy on the fast track to extinction.
