Remember the ending of Easy Rider?

I'm going to use it for an analogy for an incident that happened on my way home locally today.

The bikers were targeted by a pair of rednecks in a truck. Just the looks told them they were hippy types or whatever no other interaction. They blew 'em away with a shotgun after one of the bikers threw them a finger.

In my case I'm driving a vintage VW van- no political bumper stickers.

I see a mega truck replete with giant 'Merican flag in the back speeding up behind me. I draw as close to the car in front of me up to the light. The truck goes into the turn lane to my left-and that light goes before mine. And of course he goes for a coal roll-belching about $10.00 worth of diesel in a giant black cloud. And I had my window down. Luckily my bus has a peppy motor I built myself & I outran his gas cloud by just a hair.

Not quit a shotgun blast . But there was no other motivation other than my choice of vehicles. Lucky I didn't throw 'em the finger-seriously.

This was a liberal leaning town in Oregon outside of Portland.

Big white truck. It was night, so I turned on my high-beams. He turned at the next light.

It’s amazing how much effort and expense they go to just to prove they are assholes.

They are so easily threatened and triggered.

I was driving my 1985 Honda Civic SI and some trucker decided to run me off the road after he saw my California plates.

He almost did but luckily I was able to hit 100 MPH.

This was about 30 years ago.

Things haven't changed much have they?

I was driving from MN to OH byway of the UP. In Superior WI a bubba trucker driving a big diesel Chevy kept slowing down, then speeding by, then slowing...(I was driving a Subaru Forester) Then I got a blast of rolling coal. I saluted him with the universal finger sign of being #1. Bubba didn't appreciate or understand my gesture. He started weaving and screaming, blew through a stoplight, cops lit him up immediately.

I sure hope he found his way home.

I was a young hippie and avoided Bambi & Old Yeller.

It was just exhaust gas but very deliberate. And I am glad I wasn't on my bicycle I would have never outran it.

You just don't know what the next level is and I'm glad they didn't try & follow me home or something dumb.
I was a guy in a old hippy bus. That made me the target from way over 100 yards behind me. So yeah this guy is whack.

Getting a Dash cam is about all I can do for now.
