The biggest issue on the ballot for all voters should be...

I just read in my local newspaper that the Rethuglian candidate for Congress; Bruce Poliquin (2nd district, Maine), has refused to state if he will accept the results of the vote should he lose in the upcoming election.

That right there should be all any responsible voter needs to vote for his opponent. Nothing else should matter, if these election deniers refuse to accept the people's vote then they should be denied public office - period, end of story.

When I see that polls show the American People put inflation as their number one concern when we are in a battle for democracy itself, I can only conclude that we have reached the nadir of ignorance!

Rachel Maddow recently spelled it out quite clearly when she said that autocrats, dictators and strong men's first move in taken down democracies is to de-legitimize the vote and that's the first step in them not caring how you vote which leads to them not caring about any of the your concerns and that leads to them being able to focus solely on enriching themselves and their cronies (Russia!).

The fact that millions of Americans are already signed up for this insanity and that many others think the price at the pump is the most important issue in this election sickens me!

He tried to destroy our democracy but it was to strong for him.
There is not middle ground here he must be punished.

to the exclusion of what affects others. It's the 'what's in it for me' approach. The orange one is, indeed, one of them in that regard.

We are in a battle for whether we care about our neighbors in this country, or whether what's in MY wallet is the most important thing in life.

I'm hoping they do it in all elections to come. The upcoming SCOTUS case on the "independent state legislature" theory will be a critical decision...

The ISL theory, which is unmoored to existing legal precedent, relies on a nonsensical interpretation of the U.S. Constitution claiming that state legislatures have unfettered authority to set rules for federal elections and cannot be countermanded by any other state-based entities, thus eliminating any checks and balances.

If they rule in favor of that, we're royally screwed.

The lower court rejected the idea, and the SC could have let that ruling stand. I think we’re in for a term that will see the SC rolling back a lot of rights and advancing the totalitarian state ruled by oligarchs, some of whom are also religious extremists.
