Whoever advised her to do that, or agreed with her and didn’t talk her out of it - should be FIRED.

He didn't skip the debate, as reported, which implies he planned to attend it. He never planned to attend this one.

Fetterman has committed to three televised debates in late April and early May. He said he chose to participate in those debates because they’ll have wider reach. Sunday’s was broadcast on the Pennsylvania Cable Network, while the other debates are set for prime-time airing on network TV.

Muhlenberg's use of an empty podium for a person who was never going to attend is kind of Clint Eastwoody and positioned the two debaters to literally speak to an empty chair (podium). Not a good look.
