"My sister saying almost these exact words saved my life 30 years ago"

As a recovering addict, those are the exact words one needs to hear when they are at the bottom and hate themselves beyond measure.

My sister saying almost these exact words saved my life 30 years ago

I grew up without a father. I have no idea what it is like to be loved by a dad. Joe Biden is a loving, caring, deeply devoted dad.

I wish Joe was my father.💖

I feel the same way. 😔😭

Joe Biden is as good a man as Donald Trump is a monster.

It is beyond comprehension that the Republicans believe this phone call is somehow damaging to Biden.

If you doubted which side of the aisle all the honor and integrity and kindness presently sits on, listen to this call.

Psychopaths feel no compassion. They don't understand love, they try to imitate it. But they really can't feel it. They are very sick people.

Not that all of Trump's minions are psychopaths but many are and many in leadership usually are.

They are mocking the loving understanding of a father because they can't feel that love and think of it as weakness. The only thing these people really feel are hate, jealousy, revenge and a sense of ownership over others. They need to control others so that they feel superior because they never felt love.

It's just very telling about themselves what kind of people are mocking this. They will deny it, but it is people who will never feel love.

and for them, everything is about one-upmanship and winning at any cost. You're right, they do try to imitate love and compassion, but in the end they'll show their true colors. They only give lip service to morality and values in an attempt to achieve some goal. They will turn on you in a heartbeat if it benefits them.

ago. My last tactic was more of the tough love variety after much cajoling failed. Fortunately, it took and my brother's been off the booze ever since. He's made a very good life for himself, earned advanced degrees and treats people with addiction issues. The GOP mocks Biden about his son and derides the son quite openly, all while they know people - probably relatives - dealing with the same issues. There are no saints when it comes to addiction.

If your base is the same crew who would have cheered on gladiators dismembering each other in the Roman coliseum or lent their vocal support to burning a witch in medieval Europe or colonial America, then empathy and kindness - even to your own kin - are nothing to be admired

Trump and his idiot son are out there publicly spewing their drug-addled tirades on a regular basis. Junior's Rumble videos are nothing but big, long cocaine rages. I'm certain his father has never told him that he loves him.

7. The attitude toward drugs is such a failure in this country.
Tue Oct 11, 2022, 08:01 AM
Oct 2022

Too many people see drug addiction as a moral failing rather than a sickness that can be treated. Since Nixon started the War on Drugs to lock up as many black voters as possible, we have spent billions upon billions to no effect. That money has served to split many black families because black drug users are targeted over white ones, and many more black people are in jail for drug use.

We have enriched the Mexican drug cartels beyond belief to supply the illegal drug market while not policing big pharmaceutical companies that supplied legal drugs to create generations of opioid addicts. And we are still spending that money today, essentially throwing it to rich people instead of legalizing drugs and putting the money into treatment programs. One would think that we would have learned from the utter failure of Prohibition that the government trying to regulate what people see as moral behavior is useless and only leads to worse outcomes.

Not only do we not learn, though, we’re doing it again with abortion because the right wants the government to regulate women’s moral behavior and punish them for what they see as immorality. Abortion in some areas will be sent underground, especially in poor communities where women have few choices. Many of them will not be able to spend days traveling to another state for an abortion because they lack the money, can’t take the time off work, or have no one to take care of the kids they already have. Such women are also less likely to have access to the Internet to order abortion pills.

The cruelty toward fellow humans of many in this country never ceases to disgust me. So many of them claim that they love God and God loves us all, and in the next breath they purposely condemn some to death or to lives of poverty and misery. We as a country embrace violence and cruelty, and I blame much of that on white supremacy and privilege.

making a call like that? Neither can I. You have all heard the story of him showing up at Penn to go with Junior to a football game. Junior was in casual clothes, jeans and a sweatshirt I believe. Biden's words of love and comparison are so moving and sincere I am just curious whether Hannity actually used it to put him down as a loser or as somehow weak.

I would think that the audio clip -- which was probably purloined illegally by someone -- might have been used as a demonstration, say, that although Biden's "Liberal politics" were somehow suspect (they aren't!), here is a portrait of the man, himself, as a loving and compassionate father because, as Sean Hannity, I am a decent human man and have to give credit where it is due.

Hearing Hannity's on-air use of the clip would be worth millions of minutes of his televised lying and kowtowing to Fatman45.
