In case you haven't seen the latest comment from Tulsi Gabbard.
It confirms what we've always known or suspected:
It's been on Twitter for less that 12 hours, and she has received thousands of replies.
Some of them have been ... ahem ... mean tweets!
(also some are rather funny and/or biting memes)
So I've made a small collection for your enjoyment. I'm sure that more tweets are being added constantly now that more people are seeing her "shocking" post.
I'm sure a lot more memes and funny replies will be tweeted in the next few hours.
Bye bye Tulsi! You won't be missed.

Now, if she moved to a ruby red state, like Talibama or some such place, she might stand a chance. But I really think she's angling for a high-paid gig on Faux Nuz, or perhaps a slightly lower paid gig on SpewsMax.

Trade on your looks while you can, girlfriend. They will not last. And if you make it Job One to keep looking like that, youll eventually turn into a gargoyle.
And frankly, the very thought of that makes me smile. You can cheat voters and viewers, but you cant cheat Father Time.
When I was still working, every year one of the big Hollywood events was the American Film Institute event that singled out some Hollywood luminary for a special lifetime achievement award. It always brought out Old Hollywood. And the press was always there. Fantastic place to grab sound bites both to use for your coverage of that night AND for obit purposes for - well, um - later.
In the press area, it always became kind of a game: Spot the
Facelifts
Brow lifts
Hair plugs
Chin lifts
Eye jobs
Toupees
Boob jobs
Neck jobs
And more.
Some of the camera guys were BRUTAL.

(58,785 posts)given by a website discussion group I stumbled on some time ago while searching something else on Ivanka. Totally respectful and unmalicious (so much for the fun), this group was just super into cosmetic surgery itself; they went over her with a microscope, with various "present" and "before" pix for comparison, etc. Anyway, your list, though a bit longer, reminds me strongly of what they believed they found. Cheek implants were among their "findings," too.

(81,443 posts)And shit, there were a few folks in the press crowd who were completely crass and didnt hold back, with little concern for whod hear them.
Crass of my own: I looked forward to those AFI events, to a great degree, because of that - uh - side stuff. Some of those guys just didnt pull punches, especially those whod been on this beat for quite awhile. But they made it even more fun. Evil, nasty fun.

But, again, if thats gonna work for ya, fine, BUT you HAVE TO keep it up. Injections every couple/three months. Youre stuck. You HAVE to keep it up - for possibly the rest of your career. As you age, youll be competing for the spotlight against all kinds of celebrities and pitchmen/women, actresses moonlighting in endorsement deals and side gigs, and various other kinds of Flavors of the Month, all ages, races, backgrounds, and levels of experience, and every variety of Famous for Being Famous.
But, of course, youve got a reputation and looks and a famous name, and an image to try to hang onto. And you do love being on TV.

(10,252 posts)Since when did Dems become warmongers? Certainly not after LBJ. Seems like the Bushes had the franchise on warmongering. And aren't the masters of war those big corporations with those military contracts that *ahem* also fund GOP political campaigns to keep flowing funds to the war machine?
What exactly is cowardly about wokeness? Those folks that marched for equality before the law and got thumped with police nightsticks seem rather heroic, not cowardly to me.
Elitist cabal -- what's that about? A little resentment towards college educated folks? People who read lots of books banned by the Christo-Fascists?
More than anything, her tweet strikes me as intensely mean-spirited and hateful. She and her ilk can't resist demonizing liberals. They make us wrong, so they can make themselves feel right. If we aren't in their Christo-Fascist cult, then we must be under the control of that no good evil Satan.

We may be providing Ukraine with some defensive materiel, but it's a long way from getting us into a hot shooting war.
One thing I can say for Tulsi, she didn't drag any false-religion into her argument. She just kept it in the political arena, so fine. She was never really with us anyway.

(2,580 posts)"Rep. Adam Kinzinger, one of the most prominent Republican critics of former President Donald Trump in Congress, is rolling out a bipartisan series of midterm endorsements Tuesday, including a handful of Democrats seeking to become their states top election officials.
Kinzinger (R-Ill.) endorsed four Democratic secretary of state candidates: incumbents Steve Simon of Minnesota and Jocelyn Benson of Michigan, along with Arizonas Adrian Fontes and Nevadas Cisco Aguilar, both of whom are running for open seats. Kinzingers endorsements, shared first with POLITICO, also include Democrat Josh Shapiros campaign for governor of Pennsylvania, where he would appoint the secretary of state if he wins.
In an interview, Kinzinger said he chose 2022 endorsements partly based on where there are going to be positions that, frankly, can be bulwarks to defend against a real constitutional crisis in 2024.
A badly-placed, bad faith secretary of state can really throw the whole country into chaos, he added."

I have no clue what her actual job is, other than lobbing accusations and smearing Democrats from the side lines.
Hortensis
(58,785 posts)The lawsuit stemmed from Clinton saying that Gabbard, then a 2020 presidential candidate, was being groomed to run as a third-party candidate and was a favorite of the Russians. Clinton, in the same interview, suggested that the person she was talking about was a Russian asset, while not naming the Hawaii Democrat.
Remember, our intelligence services, and the Mueller investigation, warned the public about and reported on Russia's involvement with Gabbard, and other politicians in that national election, and any lawsuit certainly would have gone very poorly for her. Even if she won because the intelligence services declined to provide court-worthy evidence, she'd have merely taken a big highlighter to her being used by Russia for the court of public opinion.
Gabbard wasn't the only one who filed phony lawsuits against Hlllary back then then, dropping them before the stage where evidence had to be provided to the court to confirm a basis for a suit. SOP for getting and manipulating media coverage.
SergeStorms
(19,204 posts)filed only to get negative press by the oh-so-accommodating media, in all likelihood at the instruction of the Kremlin.
At that exact moment it was all too clear what Ms. Gabbard's game was. It just amazes me that she took this long to complete her transformation.

Which I know is kind of a questionable thing to say.. I mean, intelligence spying on US citizens and stuff is always an uncomfortable subject, but then again, if they are working for adversaries. I can only assume it's more nuanced and complicated than them having evidence of someone like Tulsi getting paid off by Russia to do their work over here.
Hortensis
(58,785 posts)Maybe check volume 1 of the Mueller Report, which is about the nitty-gritty of what was found. I don't know what else has been released.
Old betrayal, old news, and Gabbard went on, not to disgraced obscurity, but to run for president (!) on the Democratic ticket. (!!) She wasn't exactly popular, but her criticisms of the party did get her lots of press and the usual fringe support, with some anti-Democratic types liking her for her attacks and a few of the Bernie enthusiasts loving the idea of a Bernie-Tulsi ticket.
What to say?
PurgedVoter
(2,218 posts)I mean, as far as that elitist cabal of warmongers goes, ask Dick Cheney and the Neocons. As far as no longer remaining in the Democratic Party goes, here on DU we have a policy of not talking bad about our folk. Yet we have all had a blind eye towards that when the name, Tusi, came up, out of our "Respect" for you.
As far a racializing every issue, your using the word wrong. I can figure out what you mean, but then, you are messed up there as well.
Look here for a bit more on racializing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racialization
Dividing us on every issue, again you are the queen of that one. As far as anti-white racism goes, we are looking at folk shooting up minority places of worship and they all seem to be connected with the side you have been on but only just now declared for.
And freedom, if you start looking, is not something your side loves. Or democracy, or rule of law, but your side does love having guns.
How large is the old KGB sleeper cell in Hawaii anyway? I expect you know.
FakeNoose
(32,727 posts)I feel it's a weakness - or maybe call it a blind spot - on DU.
Many DUers got their posts hidden (myself included) when we said something negative about Tulsi Gabbard. There are a small number of DUers who acted like Ninjas and reported every little comment, if it sounded like a criticism of her.
So thank dog - we're done with that.

Being a big Bernie fan, maybe I was just happy to have any of the other candidates appearing at least, to back him as their choice if they didn't win. And had strong anti war sentiments that I presumed was shaped by experiencing the Iraq War as a young American and being disgusted with it as we all were. Led of course by Republicans.
Wasn't it Joe Biden who actually got us OUT of a war.....with Afghanistan? And her now GOP cohorts like Liz Cheney crying about it?

There was a time in which I liked her and thought she good politician even if I didn't agree with everything she said.
