Embassies are not sovereign but are considered inviolable as stated in one of the links. Could a NATO country or any country for that matter, consider a missile strike by Russia a hostile attack?

(9,500 posts)But there has been precedence in the past for not going to war over these "accidents" ( in 1999, we accidentally hit the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade, killing 3 people).

In practicality, these days, what (Pootie) does -- he's a war criminal. Of course what he does is an act of war. The response is up to Nato and or that country.
