Extremists doxxing one of the Cruz jurors who wouldn't vote for death

Unrolled thread
https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1580708822301089792.html

Americans deeply concerned with the sanctity of life are putting the name of the dissenting Cruz juror on social media, announcing where she lives, and wishing death on her, because she didn't vote to execute someone.

/2 To clarify, apparently there were 3 dissenting jurors. But they only know the name of one, because the judge filed a note from her without redacting her name, so they're posting her picture on Twitter and inviting her murder.

We're a fucked-up culture.

/3 Maybe Florida is different. I can't imagine a judge here, in such a case, filing a jury note revealing the name of a juror in such a case.

I guess the judge thought, shit, it's been weeks, SOMEBODY should get killed out of this.

/4 Also: those poor families. I can't conceive of their pain and I wouldn't criticize anything they said about the murderer.

But their existence doesn't mean I'll refrain from critiquing whether and how the state should kill people.

/5 Also: an alarming number of people are saying that jurors are cruel to, or inflicting harm on, the victims' families by not just voting to execute -- that they're causing more harm.

Think about that. Jesus.

Cruz intentionally went into a school and killed a bunch of people without a spec of remorse. He's a true subhuman monster and I almost consider a humane death to be too good for him. Because of some wishy-washy jurors, now the families of his victims will be robbed of closure and have to live out their lives angry that this monster is still breathing.

Hate is so great that it must propagate.
It seems that compassion is way out of fashion.

The teachings of Jesus
Really don't please us
So we gladly distort them
And sanctify mayhem.

I am not against the death penalty for people who have committed horrendous crimes and been caught doing them, but as long as we have the death penalty, innocent people will receive the death penalty.

I think life in prison, with no possibility of parole, is a worse punishment.

friends in prison, and how much money you get every month from family and friends. I know a man who spent 20 years in a Florida prison. He had friends in prison and his family sent him $200 a month for him and his friends. He needed back surgery twice including rods holding his spine together and the prison sent him to Jacksonville for his operations.

I’d want, especially if I were 18 years old looking at 60-70 years in prison.

YMMV.
