He is detached from all the things that mitigate all of the above:

Adherence to the law whether through respect for it or fear of punishment.

Acknowledgement of facts, proof and evidence.

Shame, humility or any other social lubricant. Basically, not giving a crap about any other person.

Respect for institutions and the Constitution which give us a chance of proper self-governance if not always guaranteeing it.


The republican party was always headed for where he has taken them, but they were taking the long way around working mostly within the system and for the most part casting vague doubt about inconvenient facts instead of flat out denying them. His personal failings and pathology have provided the party a blazed trail to everything ugly in America being codified.

He took power because from the "base" because the party was moving too slowly to what they had been whistling at the average american for so long - they were HUNGRY for someone to just go next level - THAT was what the Trump, no more bullshit signs were saying.
