That brings up an interesting question. If he was forced to resign, would Turtle become Majority Leader for the rest of this Congress? Not enough time for a Special Election, and the winner next month won't be seated until January.

Just because he can't be there doesn't mean he will resign.

The only way out:
Resign
Convicted of felony
Death

However, there is absolutely no reason for him to resign

Edit: there will be a replacement named if he cannot serve for any reason.

Thanks for the info. He would probably be replaced by a Republican considering the governor of Vermont is R.

Unless they passed a law like Kentucky.

The FY23 continuing resolution only goes until Dec. 16. After that, with no budget, we're closed.
