do local stations sell ad time for specific shows or do they sell ad time in bulk?

I see both Dem and repuke ads during Colbert and Seth Meyers but I doubt few repukes are watching those shows, are any Dems running ads on Faux fake news?

I pretty much only watch MSNBC on DirecTV, so, I have no idea why they would advertise on MSNBC of all places unless it is bulk advertising on a number of different channels.

Some stations don't do bulk ads at all.

Of those that do, they usual require single-slot ad buys for high viewership time slots and popular shows; bulk ads accepted for, say, Thursday 3 a.m. slots.
