His answers were well thought out, detailed and well delivered. Like Obama, he speaks in paragraphs.
Now that he's got some federal experience under his belt I see him as a viable Presidential candidate.

(30,745 posts)elect a gay man? We certainly were not mature enough to elect Hillary, one of the best qualified candidates of all time.
Pete is incredible. He would make a wonderful President.

(1,144 posts)He's been a popular mayor. He was a high IQ presidential candidate. Doing a great job (and not shy about appearing reasonable on Fox) now in the cabinet.
Excellent in-state reputation and well-liked. Deep roots in the South Bend/Notre Dame community.
Holcomb has been the bully you'd expect Pence to hand-pick, and is term-limited out in 2024.
Pete wins two terms as governor. Would be 50 in 2032. I'd expect him to run again then.
Of course, he could be vice-president under Harris first.

(68,582 posts)any you are talking about a state-wide race. Personally, I think we are in the fight of our lives to get and keep rights for women and for LGBTQ...SCOTUS just ruled to allow firing for essentially being Gay. I hope I see a woman president and a Gay president in my lifetime but I am not optimistic. There is a big fight coming as Joe puts it for the soul of America. We have to win.
