I my opinion there will be major plea deal discussions between Trumps lawyers and Garland.

Trump is a textbook narcissist. Look up the traits of a narcissist, Trump checks all the boxes. Trump is terrified of being put on trial because he fears it will destroy his image. Trump is 100% Ego.

During his entire life Trump delayed and delayed investigations until he knew he could not win, then he settled.

Garland has smoking gun evidence against Trump in both the J6 investigation and the secret document investigation. Trump will delay as long as he can. Soon Trump is going to see scores of people who worked for him indicted. There will be trials. Trump will understand if he goes on trial there will be a good chance he will be convicted. Worse yet, in Trumps mind, he will be terrified of looking bad.

I also believe Garland would rather not put Trump on trial. It would be a freak show.

I have no idea what type of plea deal could be agreed to by Trumps lawyers and Garland. Trump would have to plead guilty to something. Admit his crimes, admit the election was not stolen.

But Trump will violate that deal after the fact and get away with it.

He can't be expected to comply with any terms and when he fails, we're just back in the litigation cesspool.

I'd like to see Trump under house arrest at the very least.
And a gag order on his damn rallies.

Epstein's island should be repurposed as a penal colony for right wing insurgents.

Except he will insist on not being indicted for anything keeping him from stealing the office again. Garland MUST not give in on conviction on the document charges, that is the only thing that will stop his 2024 run. He also must insist on an immediate concession of defeat and stop of all grifting off the lie. Otherwise, Garland, you must proceed. America has got to be protected from this fascistic danger.

If he both admits to various charges AND agrees to a legally binding statement that he can not run for any public office or play ANY political role, then the DOJ could opt to not indict him ... doing what is necessary to freeze their ability to do so in the future should he engage in ANY future bad action, including denying his confession.

What then? The whole process will have to start over, with maybe new political conditions. We'll issue subpoenas; he'll appeal. We'll send summons; he'll appeal. We'll negotiate; he'll stall.

Any agreement with Trump will only be another delaying tactic to him. It is what he does. Always.

specific inappropriate things. It should require him to TRUTHFULLY, even if in private with DOJ, answer any questions on what he did and what he knew. While a plea deal of this sort would and should still be difficult for him, what could make it somewhat attractive to him is that it would be less public and faster and it could remove the threat of prison.

Why it might not work, is that he might be as delusional as he sounds most of the time now. If so, he might not see his alternatives clearly. He might now agree with his most delusional supporters who feel he is America's God anointed leader.
