is refusing to act during an emergency, and the vice-president is in hiding for his life, there is no designation as to who is in charge.
In an "ordinary" crisis, if both top posts are vacated due to death or incapacitation, the Speaker of the House takes charge. But on Jan. 6, both the Prez and Veep were alive, but were unwilling or unable to react. Congress needs to get on this issue and re-write the line of succession protocol in case the worst happens in 2024.

America elected a spy, an enemy, a destroyer. People STILL cannot wrap their heads around it and that's the real danger.

Not only did President Trump refuse to tell the mob to leave the Capitol, he placed no call to any element of the United States government to instruct that the Capitol be defended, said Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., during the panels wide-ranging Thursday night hearing on the event.
