The excuse that Republicans used in the second impeachment trial...

...was that Donald Trump was no longer the President, and since he was now a "former president", it says nothing in the Constitution about impeaching a "former President". Therefore, they could not impeach.

It is true that he is still a "former president" and is not mentioned in the Constitution as having any special privileges or honors?

Any post presidency benefits are legislatively passed by Congress as thanks for service to the nation.

Other stuff like executive privilege, etc are practices developed over the years to support the Office of the President in execution of his duties. Not personal perks and also not in the Constitution.
