Walker told an audience of U.S. servicemen and women, “I worked in law enforcement, so I had a gun.” In 2017, he claimed, “I work with the Cobb County Police Department.” In 2019, Walker also told listeners, “I spent time at Quantico at the FBI training school. Y’all didn’t know I was an agent?”


The Journal-Constitution called the Cobb County Police Department, which said it had no record of Walker being employed there. Walker’s campaign then told the paper he was “an honorary deputy,” which Cobb law enforcement officials also could not confirm.

Walker went to UGA when the school was a football factory and the players could do basically nothing and pass. Then there was the Jan Kemp scandal. Dooley quit as head coach and I think the president at the time got fired. UGA had to reform its athletic culture in the wake of Kemp’s lawsuit. No excuses, though: in that era, a star had to work really hard to fail, and I think the university failed in its mission to those players.

The players have to go to class now and have to do actual academic work. They get a ton of help at their own academic center - I was a tutor there. They do have to make the grades they get but have a pretty incredible infrastructure to support them.

But yeah, Walker’s an embarrassment. He could string together sentences better then than now, but I think he’s had too many blows to the head and, like Trump, he’s a dumbass who’s been surrounded by sycophants who have convinced him that he’s a genius.

Way back in the day I remember Dexter Manley who graduated from Okie State. He went pro and when he got his signing bonus he couldn't sign the check, he didn't know how to write his name.
