MSNBC talking about Walker exceeding expectations

Just tuned in and caught a few seconds. Says the bar was very low for him and he did well based on that.

How about not setting the bar low ? (this is not directed at those discussing it as they are just discussing what is being reported).

2. If you're looking for an excuse, any excuse at all, to vote for Walker

then you'll claim he gave you one regardless of how he actually performed. Facts aren't playing into your decision.

Low expectations for clearly unqualified candidates are built in.

They have to be.

We don't last long if our upper deliberative body is made up of morons like Tommy Tuberville and Marsha Blackburn. In that case, we might as well put forty Senate Republicans into cold storage, have the nine who can put a sentence together on their own be allowed to speak on the floor, and have Moscow Mitch just vote for himself and cast the forty votes he never ever has to worry about. It wouldn't make a nickel's worth of difference.

7. Ron Brownstein on CNN actually criticized the moderators

for going so easy on Walker. He pointed out that they were harder on Warnock for his personal issues than they were on Walker. As I pointed out last night, the moderator never followed up or pushed Walker when he claimed the report of him paying for a girlfriend's abortion was a lie. Never said "what about the receipts?" Nothing.

I'm not happy with some of the reported changes from CNN but MSNBC can be just as bad when it comes to horse race politics.

I still enjoy CNN for the most part. I honestly haven’t seen this rightward turn that keeps being reported.

want a "Horse Race." They also stubbornly stick to the idea that reporting has to be equal, so they end up holding Democrats to a higher standard. It is very frustrating but I see/hear it on MSNBC all the time too.

low expectations before the debate was "genius". I almost threw up, and then again when no one on the panel didn't immediately jump in and say, "hold the eff on with that obvious republican talking point, no way is Walker's name ever to be put in a sentence with the word genius.

I was totally disgusted.

The expectation was that he was going to blow it 25 feet out his ass.

That he only blew it 19 feet out his ass is...well, exceeding expectations.
