Paul Ryan makes bold prediction about Trump and MAGA lovers won't like it.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/paul-ryan-makes-bold-prediction-121409517.html

Former House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) threw water on Donald Trump’s chances for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination on Thursday.

"I think Trump’s unelectability will be palpable by then," Ryan said. "We all know that he will lose. We all know that he is so much more likely to lose the White House than anybody else running for president on our side of the aisle, so why would we want to go with that?"

Ryan said Trump would try to intimidate other Republicans from joining the race, but predicted the strategy will ultimately fail.

"The only reason he stays where he is is because everybody’s afraid of him," Ryan said. "They’re afraid of him going after them, hurting their own ambition. But as soon as you sort of get the herd mentality going, it’s unstoppable."

"Whether he runs or not, I don’t really know if it matters," Ryan added. "He’s not going to be the nominee, I don’t think."

I do think he will ultimately bring down the GOP, but I'm no longer taking a position as to when that happens.

Cannot compare then to now.
Then he was an unknown, politically. The illusion that he was a big business titan still existed.
Much of the middle of the road were in "let's try something different" mode. A "what's the harm" mindset.
Now, much of America knows he's not a business genius, he's rotten as president, the "harm" was manifested, and the unknown is gone.
Remember that in '20, he got more votes, but lost the PV by 5 million more votes than in '16.
In '16, there was little motivation to vote AGAINST him. That motivation, especially among the middle, is greater than ever.

in 2016, and 100M people didn't vote at all. In 2020, 20M of them did vote -- some for, but most against.

Die! Seriously, his quiet death would be a gift to any "non-undead" Republican.

I know the media and everyone started to say he was "elected president"

But he was not, he was, is and should always be referred to as a LOOPHOLE PRESIDENT and that's the only way he should ever be referred to.

This nonsense that he has any type of electability whatsoever is absolutely stupid.
He lost the popular vote by 3 million in 2016
He lost the popular vote by 7 million in 2020
Do they honestly believe the American people won't show up and stump that Orange monkey back into the ground where he belongs in 2024? He would lose the popular vote by 10 million.

In fact there is no measurable metric that will give republicans the way if republicans the White House ever again unless they cheat it and completely stole their votes away.

Forgive my frustration but I don't believe it's even a conversation worth having and Paul Ryan just needs to go back to the gym put his hat on backwards and keep making goofy photographs because that's all he was ever good for

Paul Ryan on his own people. And some on the left too of course.

Herd mentalities follow charismatic goats.

No big opinion of Ryan's judgement for sure. A libertarian extremist too whacked for even the Freedom Caucus! (probably the real thing, libertarian by personality) But I'd be interested in what he's really thinking about all the possible "whos" the MAGA herd might fasten on this time.

There is no way for Republicans to cut Trump loose without him sinking the whole party. If they try to he will destroy them by starting a MAGA party.
