7 billion snowcrabs have disappeared around Alaska

?s=20&t=7mix-gtBuYAYeVUSf77LDQ

For the right wingnuts and Herschel Walker, probably, looking for all those corpses, it is an inability to breed in warmer waters, not a die off.

No harvest this year.

The dishonest right will lie that human-caused climate change is ‘natural.’

Move to habitable regions, and the rest of the planet would recover.
Now that we're here, it willbe damn hard to kill us off (but it will require our future adaptation)

... in her usual gruesome ways of starvation, thirst, and exposure.

Or we can ignore our common humanity and start shooting one another over trivial cultural differences, which is the usual habit of humans.

Or we can reduce our birthrate by raising living standards for all, empowering women economically and politically, and by promoting realistic sex education and birth control.

"Conservatives" worldwide seem to prefer option two which is why we have to fight for option three.

Last season they started moving some of the show to Norway. I suspect that there will far more show in Norway next season

Some of the boats fished for Cod and other species of crab. I fear that this show may not survive these shutdowns

Yeah, those shows are likely not in a good position to survive at this pace.

It's heartbreaking how many crabs just vanished.

Not a terribly surprising event. Stocks have been declining the last several years, but kept being fished....until they collapsed. Similar to the Atlantic Cod debacle, money apparently trumped good sense and good management until it was too late and populations plummeted. It will take years for them to recover.

As we continue waiting for Atlantic cod stocks to recover in the Gulf of Maine and Georges Bank, if ever given climate change, I hope we're not doing the same thing to their Pacific cousins. They're supposedly managed well, but that's what they said about Atlantic Cod stocks in the 90's.

collisions with buildings, etc.
The descriptions of the flocks of birds that existed before the 1800's makes me realize we are in a seriously degraded world. So much that was beautiful lost.

give most sea life a chance. Sonar and other technologies find the swarm and devastate the population. Stop the harvest, let the population rebound and help out the people involved in commercial fisheries survive.

Between 2017 and 2021 it dropped to 18 days.
