Advantage of delaying Trump's indictment

I know - many of you want to see action NOW, if not sooner. However there is a very real possibility of violence in the streets by tfg's supporters if and when the indictments drop.

Maybe the right approach is what is currently happening; lock up, immobilise, indict, remove from circulation as many of his vicious foot soldiers as possible so that there is literally no one left to mount violent reprisals. Oath Keepers, Proud Boys and similar militias but also trumpist elements in the SS, Police, FBI and so on.

At any time I will be very surprised.

Normally delay turns into nothing being done when the executive branch commits a crime.

Stop the mentality of "just sit back and be nice so they don't get angrier".

They are not doing arbitrary sweeps of trump supporters. They are rounding up J6 criminals.

Lots of flags and signs are down just since last spring. This coincides with the J6 committee and everything else going on. I think his die hards are beginning to not care about old fatass.

Some will double down.

But with each ugly revelation about Trump, he is losing cult members.

Indicting him before the mid-terms would cause his base to turn out en masse, and could potentially lead to violence at polling places and against poll workers.

(proceeds to be pedantic) I think you mean "virtually" rather than "literally" -- because otherwise millions of people would need to be locked up first...

But overall, an astute observation

a relatively peaceful voting day scenario, as the indictment might put some (more) over the top.

Don't want no stochastic terrorism to scare people away.

You *DO* want Republicans to vote on November 9th, don't you?

I'll post some posters separately.

I know only 25% of voters identify as Rs, but if you watch the media enough, you know that the country is split 50/50 on everything, right?

How long is this delay going to be?

and agree that we should NOT allow the idea of it to intimidate us - that's just playing into their hands. We're braver than they are, anyway. Also agree that there is lots of work to be done.

I just think that if TFG is indicted, it'll turn out the MAGA vote. Let them sit in "my gawd emperor will run in 2024, no matter what" complaisance and not turn out in great numbers to vote.
