It is a really difficult job to do well, however.

All of the heavy lifting of running the university is performed by staff. He might sign some documents and gladhandle some donors or dignitaries but university presidents dont seem to do much unless they are called to testify before a legislature or court. CEOs of major corporations are pretty much the same.
