General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsDon't lecture me about not being realistic this morning because Steve Kornacki reveling over
"his take" on how things are turning for R's has me wanting to unscrew his head like a toy doll. (and no, that isn't a real violent image--unless you tell me his head does, indeed, screw on).
Waaaay too early in the morning for Kornacki, period. But Kornacki "high" on bad news for the Dems is too damned much. So maybe I only want to trip him up, enjoying him tripping on his "infamous" brown pants and won't unscrew his head? Better?
For those not following, google Steve Kornacki, MSNBC, Morning Joe (and PUTZ)

(21,348 posts)Nicolle Wallace, Chris Hayes, or Mehdi Hasan?
The MSM is owned and managed by right wing domestic oligarchs, they push right wing talking points. It doesn't matter if cable news anchors put a left spin on the talking point, it's what is being talked about that matters.
It was totally predictable that the MSM was going to push the narrative that Magats are gaining in the polls.
Does it matter what Kornacki says? Vote like our democracy depends on it.

(21,348 posts)having to get up a 5AM in LA and drive the freeway 45 minutes to work, go to work for 12 hours and then have to drive the freeway for an hour and a half to get back to my hotel, that was when I was still working.
I listen to Zerlina Maxwell, Stephanie Miller, and Thom Hartmann when I'm driving but I don't think they are available at 4AM.

(8,053 posts)Because when a huge wave of pro-choice, anti-nazi, terrified Americans hit the polls and cast their votes AGAINST the republicans, all this lead-up is going to give fuel to their fire that the "election was stolen".
There's no fucking way that all the people who actually know how bad things are are going to stay home.

(10,156 posts)Is all it took for the MSM to once again pounce. I DO NOT believe that all of sudden women are pro GOP. That's a load of horseshit and these are the same idiot who claimed Newsom was gonna get blown out, Kansas would lose their abortion rights, Palin would win, we would lose NY house seat. Yet we won them all by huge margins.
FUCK THE MEDIA AND FUCK POLLS. VOTE VOTE VOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!

(92,192 posts)time watching or listening to these people if it upsets you?
The only thing that matters is that people get out and vote.
The reality is it is a 50-50 election, and women and young people will make up all the difference in the world.
I dont know about others, but I will not answer my phone from numbers I do not recognize.
I am not sure how many people actually do the same thing, but whatever the percentage is, those people are excluded from polls
The issues are pretty damn clear.
Werent these same polls saying that around 60% of Americans believe in choice, and a much higher believe in exceptions for rape, incest, and the life of the Mother.
Are those young people burdened by student debt that have an opportunity to have 10-20K student loans forgiven, understand who is for this and who is against this?
Are older Americans, though younger Americans should be concerned, understand that the republicans want to dismantle social security and Medicare, and get rid of the ACA?
What the SC has done because of the results of the 2016 election, should have made abundantly clear what is at stake.
The choices are pretty clear, arent they?

(50,273 posts)earth can so many Republicans be ahead????? All I can figure is people with better things to do than take polls don't bother answering when they call. I know I don't. Let's hope there's a nationwide, under-the-radar vote for the sane candidates like there was on that abortion referendum a few months ago. I have to believe there will be. It's impossible to think women would not bother to vote when control of their bodies is at stake.

(2,412 posts)He is emblematic of the election horse race excitement school of journalism. The focus is all on the race like its some kind of football game. But truth to tell, peoples lives and futures are on the line with the policies they choose with their vote. Steve never talks about real policy consequences of the elections or the policies of the candidates. It is disgusting and infantile coverage. No mention of the Pink Wave of women voters that is coming. This is all designed to suppress the Democratic vote. By their fruits you shall know them!
mnhtnbb
(31,389 posts)We have half a million more women registered voters than men in NC. It wouldn't surprise me to see them vote differently in this election than they have in the past and surprise all the pollsters who don't get how angry women are about Dobbs.

(10,052 posts)the dems in the lead again. It depends on who they are talking to. I no longer listen to any news of the polls, the media will take one poll and try to make a horse race.
Cuthbert Allgood
(4,921 posts)It's not like he said Dems were horrible. He was looking at the poll numbers and trying to explain them to people that, frankly, don't understand poll numbers. I could go back and search for other elections where Kornacki was praised on here because he was saying Dems would win.
How about we not be like the RW nutjobs and hate anyone who dares to say that there might be a problem? Or not, YMMV.

(102,279 posts)Accusing others of HATE is an RW projection tactic. Most on this thread are annoyed by his mannerisms and apparent glee when the tides shift toward the R's.

(4,921 posts)But there have been a lot of statements in this thread about stopping watching someone and not liking them, so, I don't think I'm far off.
And he's a numbers guy. Numbers and trends make him excited. I don't think he has any more glee for a shift to Rs than he does to Ds. He likes seeing trends and talking about them. How about you don't project your thoughts that he's a RWer on him?
hlthe2b
(102,279 posts)a very RW Hate projection tactic towards us on the Left. So don't assume their tactics. And no I'm not accusing you of BEING a RWer. Don't act like one.
