(101,320 posts)brings to mind more the "Oath Keeper" types. Plus the US flag in the background gives the impression of loving to shout how 'patriotic' they are.

(12,385 posts)just because I'm a peaceful, retired Marine doesn't mean I've forgotten how to defend myself violently if the situation calls for it, and BTW, my Chiweenie goes everywhere in my truck that I go.

And he's as liberal as it gets!

(12,385 posts)I bought a T-shirt that had a picture of a Marine in full battle dress with the caption "When it absolutely, positively has to be destroyed overnight" and underneath the quote was the words "US Marines".
I don't wear anything like that anymore, just my US Marines Ret. ballcap, but if this guy wants to wear that jacket with that wording on it, more power to him, none of my business.

(86,636 posts)We have both whitetail and muleys here and if I hadn't taken extraordinary measures, I would not have anything in my flower garden. I truly thought I planted stuff they wouldn't eat, jokes on me. Next year, chicken wire!
Mikey likes to go out predawn and chase them from my flower patch! At the old place I saw him chase the neighbor's horse out of our yard one morning. He has established his territory around the fourplex and keeps all other pets out, if he can't handle it, he comes and gets me to do it.

(23,319 posts)Damned deer eat anything and everything. They ate all kinds of things this year that they're not supposed to eat. Hostas? At them. Cone flower? Munched. Goat's Beard? Decimated. I did find a spray that smells like citrus and peppermint that works pretty well...it has to be re-applied every 3 weeks or so. https://www.deerout.com/ After using it, I was actually able to get my cone flowers to bloom for the first time without them being eaten to the ground.
I apparently need a Mikey.

(86,636 posts)Deerout stuff, my allergy to mint precludes its use in my environment.
Mikey is a gem, I had another cat, a very long time ago who also would guard the yard and watch my back while I'm working in the garden. He's a total tattletale, lets me know when canvassers are coming, shows me where the deer pooped and which flowers they ravaged...
He's a good boy, dog dressed up like a cat.

(9,893 posts)in the grocery store this spring who felt the need to tell me via t-shirt that if I ever broke into his house he would shoot me dead. I definitely took it as a sign of assholery. I also stayed far away from him, as I figured he was carrying something.

Social mobility is the academic name for the American Dream: that with big dreams and hard work, anyone can climb the social ladder.
To understand Republicans you need to understand they fear and hate social mobility.

I just recently learned why people like Elon Musk or your average stock broker support Trump Party.
It's their attitude towards poverty. People who believe exploitation is necessary for businesses and poverty is needed to scare people into working more are pro GOP.

It's this picture, with a Stars and Stripes background: https://teenavi.com/product/dont-ever-think-reason-peaceful-forgot-violent/
So I think it's the kind of guy who wants to be seen as an armed guy with a skull mask.

(15,540 posts)I actually know a guy somewhat like this. He buys a macho type jacket trying to make people believe he's something he's not. He's basically a coward who would wet his pants at the first sign of trouble. The jacket he wears has nothing to do with what he's done for a living his entire life, but he wants people to believe he's tough.
