My arm is sore, that's about it. The earlier doses made me feel like I was getting sick for a day or two. Anybody else have less side effects from the new booster shot?

(844 posts)None of the shots really bothered me. I took a nap after the first shot that was about it.

(5,937 posts)I had the Moderna one last week, and it was not nearly as bad as the original Pfizer shots I had, but it was not quite as mild as the last Moderna booster I had. All my boosters have been in the reaction range of a basic flu shot so no biggie. Only the first pair of shots did me in with a sore neck for like 3 weeks.

(9,070 posts)I get a sore arm each time but I get that with any vaccine. It works out quicker if I remember to massage the injection site as soon as I get it and throughout the day.
My head got hot for a bit but it went away within 30 minutes or less. This last booster I got a hot head for about 30 seconds. : )
I had some tiredness with each shot but it was mild, it lasted for anywhere from 2 to 3 days and was easy enough to work and go about my regular activities. I just wished that I could take a nap from time to time.
That was it!

(22,670 posts)Less of a reaction. And by my fourth, I was timing it so that by the time it kicked in, I'd be sound asleep, so I didn't even notice any sickness, just a lightly sore shoulder.

(2,018 posts)The only thing that my 5 shots have had in common is the suddenly super-sore arm. This last booster was definitely easier than a couple. For no apparent reason, I had one that gave me hideous full body aches, headache, and serious malaise. Another just came with a hideous headache for 2 days. Yet another was a crazy-sore arm that radiated to half that side of my body.
At this point, I have given up trying to predict what any booster will do.

(2,894 posts)Never felt that weak before.
Booster was similar to the first Moderna shot, mild effects and sore spot.

(47,117 posts)The other vaccines/boosters made me quite ill.
Flat in bed for three days.
The last one did not make me sick.
I felt tired and run down for about 5 days, but was not wiped out.

(210 posts)Have had the introductory course and then two or three boosters before the Pfizer Omicron-level repellant a few days ago. Seriously fatigued the next day. Fine the day after. Hard to say what causes what. Was it the booster or was it the planned cleaning of the garage?

(2,220 posts)Ill preface this to say that I always have reactions to any vaccination. I plan my schedule and make sure I have 48 hours before I have to be functional after a vaccination. The second Covid (Pfizer) was the worst, but they all knocked me down for a day or two. Not this one. My arm got sore for less than 24 hours, and I was tired, but functional, for a day. Three weeks later, I had the same unusually mild reaction to my senior flu shot. I got cocky. Then I got my senior pneumonia shot, and THAT knocked me out for a couple days.

(13,496 posts)but this one was the easiest for me. (And I had the flu shot with it.) I think our bodies are becoming more acclimated to this.

(4,246 posts)Slight fever, sore arm, blah feeling - enough to let me watch old movies, read, and nap all the next day. I did all my chores the day before in anticipation. I think the side effects let me know that my body is having an immune response to the vaccine. Congratulations on getting your booster & your increased protection against the omicron variant.
