Russian mothers are turning deadbeat fathers over to Putin's military draft: 'My ex-husband died as a person a long time ago'

Taiyler Simone Mitchell 6 hours ago

A group of Russian women has attempted to send idle fathers to fight Vladimir Putin's war in Ukraine.

Putin launched a military draft in September, seeking an additional 300,000 troops to fight in Ukraine.

The women argue that their deadbeat exes would be more helpful in the war or dead.

Russian mothers abandoned by their idle husbands have found the silver lining to Vladimir Putin's military draft: turning their exes in for the draft to receive financial compensation.

2. They'll desert Putin's army just like they did their families.

Can't say I blame their wives for trying, though.

I bet Sergei, Oleg, Vladimir, Matvei, Roman, Leonid, Artem, Mikhail, Timofei, Dima & Gavriil wished they'd paid child support, alimony & spent time with their children. LOL!
I can understand some not being able to participate in raising their children if one has a physical problem or mental illness but being deadbeat scrubs , well I don't feel sorry for them at all. Oh well, have fun! LMFAO!

12. Perhaps not a wise thing to do in Russia. Might be cute but not wise.

Deadbeat dad gets drafted. Completes his term of duty OR goes AWOL and returns home. Soon thereafter, mother of his kids found dead on sidewalk below her apartment, or just disappears in the night. Deadbeat dad then gets the kids.

Sometimes best to leave sleeping dogs lie.......especially Russian dogs.

presumably still be on the hook for support after they leave the military. Guessing that, however the courts may have failed any mothers who tried for support before, responsibility will have been legally established during their military conscription.

Too bad, but with genetic testing able to prove paternity... Oh well!

Whether the military will grant compensation to the widows to help support the kids.

I'd assume so. Siccing the military on deadbeats wouldn't seem to affect marital status, either way. ( "Oh, mean wife/ex-girlfrirend -- no support for your children!" )

But now I'm wondering too -- if children born to women not married to a soldier qualify for whatever benefits are available to soldiers' familes. Children born out of wedlock, not registered as dependents on conscription, etc. I'd assume a government supposedly established as socialist should have written its laws inclusively, but Russia is extremely conservative and famously sexist. And poor.
