(58,785 posts)self aggrandizement that elevates them to positions they can't maintain. Usually they're just in business and their fails are temporary disasters for their companies for people to gossip about. Gabbard managed to rise to a national stage and very public fails. She's been soiling whatever bed she lands in for years now. Psychologists could help explain "the deal" with her, and the many of her sort the GOP is producing.
Btw, some people imagine that chair of the DNC was a much more important position than it was. The DNC's name is misleading: it does not run the party, and never did. It has no power over the party or authority over party officials, does not determine policy or set our agenda, and does not choose our leaders. The DNC is a service provider to the party. Its job is to provide support to Democratic candidates and arrange the national convention and debates.
Well before Gabbard arrived, much of its limited responsibilities had been taken over by others and it had been allowed to decline into a dysfunctional backwater. That's no doubt how Gabbard came to be named chair -- she could talk well on TV when called for. Like that other hot DNC mess created later by appointing TV pundit Brazile an interim chair.
Btw, since the DNC's decline became spotlighted in 2016, with Gabbard's and Brazile's public soiling of their DNC beds a huge embarrassment, its original functions have been restored. The party's decisionmakers have put dynamic, competent people in charge and given them a firmed-up mandate and resources to do the DNC's important job: help Democratic candidates get elected.

Sanders didn't take it back: "Some people say that maybe if the system wasn't rigged against me, I would've beat Trump." Michael Moore also repeated the rigged conspiracy theory and never took it back.
Bullshit conspiracy theory against Democrats.

That is the most fitting placement for the red YouTube start button. It makes for a good clown nose for the one of the biggest clowns in politics.
