We are fighting to keep the Senate and meanwhile we have a chance to have another Democratic Senator in Ohio
and they leave Tim Ryan out to fend for himself.

(129,165 posts)regarding how he is handling his candidacy there as a sortof contrast to Sherrod Brown (who as an incumbent, always had a locked down constituent vote), and was eschewing overt "public support" from the party in order to appeal to indies and conservatives. How well that will work remains to be seen. Seems similar to what was done in AK with Mary Peltola and her ouster of Palin from their ranked-choice run for the special election, and hope that she can do it again for the full term of that seat.
I.e., the "all politics is local" approach.

(35,354 posts)states 1000 miles away. It got to be ridiculous so I unsubscribed to all of them. I mean if I get
an e-mail from the Democratic party I will read it and maybe send some money. But when I get 25 e-mails from
every Democrat in the country I just delete them.

(129,165 posts)For months I was bombarded by not just federal candidate emails, but state ones - whether for local races here in PA or in other states. Apparently their outfits bought some mailing list and went hog wild. I have had to unsubscribe from dozens.
I have contributed quite a bit to the DCCC, Fetterman/Shapiro and some to Susan Wild (defending her PA congressional seat) and even Cheryl Beasley (NC). And the past couple weeks, any email titled =
BEGGING
PLEADING
ABSOLUTELY BEGGING
IMPLORING
PLEASE
KISS EVERYTHING GOODBYE
DESPERATE
etc.
automatically gets deleted. Especially since what both parties raised and spent is available publicly and you can see where things really are - despite the whining about the "PACs" (and yes, Democrats have them too as many of the ads that I have seen on TV here in PA and heard on the radio, were ones from PACs). In fact I literally just heard this one yesterday afternoon here on our local Philly CBS radio affiliate -
I have never even heard of this group but many like this have been saving their ad buys for these last couple weeks before the election...
