Gatekeeping mental illness via celebrities
One in five adult Americans live with mental illness.
Some of them are people you know and THEY DON'T TELL YOU. Why? Well for starters it's none of your business. For two, people with mental health issues are discriminated against.
And then there's you. Talking about a celebrities with health issues*. Now this you, is the Royal you. Because there's a lot of people to do this across our society. So to be clear I'm not calling out an individual I'm calling out behavior.
Every time you look up at the TV screen and you start saying "they're not really sick" because you don't like them and you may be justified not to like them...
... But every time you do that you're sending a message to your family members your friends and your coworkers with mental health issues that you do not take them seriously. And then if they talk to you about it you're probably going to treat them the same way.
Don't bother arguing this with me, this is like using the N word, there are no arguments. Just stop doing. A person can be legitimately a douchebag and still have mental health issues. Please, correct your behavior and move on.

*Yes this came from a specific topic here but I'm not going to link the thread because this is a common theme that happens with multiple celebrities especially political celebrities.
