Andrea Mitchell analyzing John Fetterman's aphasia is some rich shit.

ugggh. Andrea Mitchell is doing to Fetterman the same shit she did to Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election.
MSNBC, she needs to go.

(12,295 posts)courageous enough to debate has got some serious demons.
Todd and Mitchell are the poster child of such demons.

(81,350 posts)I don't watch her, either. I'm not a masochist. I just can't do that to myself anymore.
And I've been retired from the news biz for more than a few years, but I can still spot anti-Democratic bias when I hear it.

(7,869 posts)As outsiders, we can only speculate.
She looks to be the second-worst rated weekday MSNBC host that has their own show (https://ustvdb.com/networks/msnbc/). I thought I read that they were going to dump her like they did Chuck Todd -- because he, too, had such poor ratings -- and yet I hear that she's still on the air. As long as she's in that slot, that's one hour a day that MSNBC can guarantee that I (and many others, apparently) won't be a viewer.

(5,551 posts)Dirt on MSNBC? They're keeping her around for some reason, and it's not because she's good at her job.

(65,085 posts)There's nothing in his history to suggest he has been privy to undisclosed information for a gigantic, publicly traded company.
It's simpler to connect it to Todd & his clout with programming management & with Mitchell.

(19,204 posts)She must have signed a contract with the devil (Alan Greenspan?) because there's no reason for her to still be hosting a show.
Retire already, Andrea, and take your pal Chuck with you!

(81,350 posts)I should apologize here. I'm kinda rough on Andrea Mitchell. But she's risen to the loftiest heights, in many cases well-deserved cuz she sure covered a boatload of significant stories through the years. But I think that background compels us to judge her by the highest standards one would judge ANYBODY that prominent in the news biz for that long.
And there's so much she does on-camera now that really annoys me, which I honestly don't remember being annoyed by in the past.

(1,847 posts)She has had her day in the sun. They keep her because she will disrupt and make insinuations when deadlines close in. She doesnt even try to hide her bias.

Have been watching John Berman and Brianna, 2 great hosts. Replacing them with Don Lemon, 2 women who are going to sit around drinking coffee, according to the ads. Another Joe show.

(28,266 posts)Some really twisted sexual stuff, involving MSNBC management. Both of them should have been fired in 2016, for what they did to Hillary. Instead, they're still snug in their jobs, trashing the verbal performance of a Democratic candidate in a critical election. Fuck this noise.

(68 posts)A few weeks ago I contacted MSNBC to voice a polite complaint re: Mitchell. While I'm sure she has "paid her dues", there comes a time when she should relinquish her seat to someone else. Her stammering and occasional incoherence can become grating. I expect she lives for her Queenly status, because I see that she brings very little to her program. My only solution was to take a mid-day break and turn off programming between 12 and 1. (Sadly, when she co-hosts with some of the more competent talkers for special coverage, I find myself on the horns of a dilemma. Do I turn the program off? or grit my teeth and endure?) It seems the height of hypocrisy for her to criticize Fetterman. He at least has a medical reason that will hopefully improve. All she has is advanced age and failure to self-critique.

(191 posts)To our knowledge, she has not had a stroke but she has verbal stumbles all the time. I thought that might be one of the reasons that she announced her upcoming retirement.
I hate ableism and ageism so much. Fetterman is recovering well and only has slight disabilities right now. The media needs to leave him alone.

And what is it that senators even do that requires perfect English? We all know their staff do most of the work. All Fetterman needs to do is vote correctly on issues brought to him, like Supreme Court Justices. Are you happy or proud of the 1s the RNC has saddled US with?

(4,268 posts)had a chance to celebrate that a person could come back so quickly from a stroke and do as well as he did. Instead they chose to use any stumbles in speech to denigrate him. Never forget who Mitchell really is and has been her whole life. A Washington cocktail party denizen married to a man who always saw any wage increases by the middle class and working poor as an inflationary evil. People like her look down on average people and they view it as their "job" to pick them apart and cast aspersions. Those reporters who crave to rise in her shadow take their cues from her. The same for Todd. MSNBC has been a mixed bag at best for a very long time.

GoodRaisin
(8,924 posts)she would join in with Republicans to poo poo Feddermans debate disabilities. Debates dont mean a lot to me anymore though, as they have little more than entertainment value in front of all the voters who have already made up their minds. Its pretty obvious in this case which candidate isnt fit for office and I dont need either Andrea Mitchell or to watch Oz talk about the issues to help me make up my mind.
