Independent candidate drops out of Pennsylvania Senate race, endorses Fetterman

The Week via Yahoo News

Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman (D) has picked up a new endorsement in his Senate race — and it's coming from his independent opponent.

Speaking to NBC News, Stern said he wants to "make sure democracy doesn't fail," and he doesn't want voters to "waste a vote on me." Oz has the support of former President Donald Trump, and that was enough for Stern to reassess his campaign. "I could inadvertently hurt democracy, and I believe Fetterman is the better man for it," he said.

Most of the early mail n vote already goes to getter man. It’s the Election Day republicans and independents who vote r in person that this can sway. We should welcome them.

so not "on the ballot regardless" unless someone goes through the trouble to manually add his name in a "Write-in" field on their own ballot - whether on an absentee ballot (excuse or no-excuse) or on whatever method they will be using on election day at the polls (machine, paper ballot for a machine ballot reader, etc.).

Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman (D) has picked up a new endorsement in his Senate race — and it's coming from his independent opponent.

A Fox News survey conducted in late September showed Everett Stern, an independent write-in candidate, polling at around 3 percent.

which is the predominate 3rd party here in PA or "Green" or the "Constitution Party" which are others that manage to get candidates on the ballot for some of the races.

The right props up a bozo TV star and throws millions in advertising at it. That needs to stop! Democracy is a joke to them.

Maybe it’s the TV thing?

If you’re on TV a lot, that tends to lend authority and credibility, and repetition never hurts. You become somehow established, and you have an automatic platform that you can use for other avenues of power and influence.

The “As Seen on TV!” thing is POWERFUL as all-get-out.

is contrary to the ideals of a democratic republic. Anyone who qualifies as a candidate must be allowed to run - and have votes for them counted. No where is it written that only Democrats and Republicans can run for office.

If we start deciding who may or may not run for election, I have little doubt the MAGAts would ban non-MAGAts from seeking public office.
