No lawyer would touch it, not even lawyers as dumb as the ones TFG hires.

Would need to show a direct link between attacks and Trump.
That’s not going to be possible.

7. Yes - direct and proximate causation. It would be impossible to prove.

And even if that were possible, anyone making a claim would have to show some compensable injury, not just knowledge of general threats by unknown people; and even if that were possible, class certification is a really tough threshold to meet. https://www.law.cornell.edu/rules/frcp/rule_23

12. They ARE building up to Civil War though. They are training militias for something.

OR categorize those groups planning to start a Civil War if tRump isn't re-elected as Domestic Terrorists and go after them that way?

Maybe less about the "threats" as the way he is inspiring people to commit treason against the US? He is STILL trying to lead an insurrection against the peaceful transfer of power.

You are right, the legal proof is hard to attach for actual causation of specific acts of violence

10. Maybe not in this last case...

But Jan 6 shows he is abusing his bully pulpit to aim destructive forces at his political opponents.

REMEMBER part of the explanation of the exception to free speech is you can't yell FIRE in a crowded theater because it could cause the crowd to panic and people might get trampled.

AND MANY OF THE defendants claimed that tRUMP was the reason they attacked on Jan 6

I think it has to be focused on the POWER of his former office and his ABUSE of that power.

11. Yes, the committee has been careful to build a case showing Trump's complicity

I don't think that's possible in this case. There is no question his, MTG's, and other Republicans' speech is inflammatory and irresponsible, but that is not the same as civilly liable.

13. tRump should be classified as an Enemy of the State for all his actions against the rule of law

THEN everyone who gave him aid and comfort could be classified as traitors and put away out of our collective misery.

I know, it's a pipe dream.

But we can see with our eyes what he is doing, like a Dam about to burst and flood the whole country.

So we just have to live with it.

The GOP wants us to be afraid, numb, apathetic.

9. Maybe WE THE PEOPLE should have a group lawsuit?

HIS destructive rhetoric combined with his previous position of power that he won't let go of is potentially bringing on a Civil War.

We should sue him for damaging our Democracy.
