Does this ruling just cover vigilantes, or can anyone stake out voting drop sites?

Janai Nelson @JNelsonLDF 1h
They're "armed and masked...wearing body armor" at a voting site. They follow and photograph voters and their license plates. A fed judge nominated by the loser of the 2016 popular vote says this is speech more worthy of protection that the right to vote. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/10/28/us/politics/federal-judge-allows-activists-to-stake-out-ballot-boxes.html

...was slightly seriously musing about this, thinking about the campaign volunteer I saw today spinning an aroow-shaped sign with the candidate's name on it, pointing to the early voting polling place.

I'd like to see a bevy of lighted arrow-shaped sign spinners (maybe synchronized) pointing the way to the drop box.

Yep, 20 or so per site should do it. dutch777 Oct 2022 #7
From what I've read, these people have to be at least 75 feet from the polling site/drop boxes. Sogo Oct 2022 #5
75 feet or 75 yards, it is voter intimidation. Chainfire Oct 2022 #8

...maybe not my silly idea, but something to counter the intimidation, and maybe carefully test the limits of the law.

unarmed, just cameras. We could create an escort path to the drop box, just like the escorts at abortion clinics.

If so, that's far enough away to not feel too intimidated, IMHO.

Maybe I'd feel differently if it actually happened to me....

I would love to say I’m surprised that a Reich wing judge is okay with this, but I’m not. Wouldn’t surprise me if they set up a gauntlet like at Planned Parenthood.
