Indeed - they tried when Steve Scalise was shot.
And I don't recall any Democrat trying to insinuate that Scalise and/or the GOPee had somehow "staged" this - as some Repugs are non-stop right now.

When one side makes it its business to act at every turn
against the best interests of humanity on an issue, then it damn sure IS a political issue. Denying that one side is wrong, saying "We'll meet in the middle" is allowing that side to position the Overton Window. That is why today when we look out the window we see chaos unleashed on a decomposing scrapyard.
