A Russian official has criticized the U.S. over its response to what it called a "terrorist attack" on its Black Sea Fleet.
Russian ambassador to the U.S. Anatoly Antonov spoke after a drone attack at the Black Sea port in Sevastopol in annexed Crimea on Saturday.
Ukraine has not claimed responsibility for the attack but U.S. President Joe Biden criticized Moscow's subsequent decision to halt the arrangement that allows grain to be transported from Ukraine, called it "purely outrageous" and saying it would increase starvation.
Russia said it would stop shipments of grain from leaving Ukraine, one of the world's largest producers. The termination of the U.N.-brokered deal is set to lead to a deepening food crisis across the globe.

(16,423 posts)Basically:
"The only way for us to win this war is by killing millions of people. We do not want to do that but we have no other choice."
I saw something similar on Twitter, a Russian soldier saying on video:
"We will keep on killing them [Ukrainians]. Millions of them, if need be. Until they understand."
He didn'telaborate what he wants the Ukrainians to understand.
Does he want the Ukrainians to understand that Ukrainians and Russians are brothers and thus belong together?
Does he want the Ukrainians to understand that Russia only has Ukraine's best interest in mind?
Does he want the Ukrainians to understand that all Ukrainians are Satanists and Nazis and pawns of NATO and do not in fact fight for their home-country because they have none?

(49,045 posts)Putin has an absurdly low opinion of the intelligence of Western peoples.
But this war shows he has terrible estimates of his capability and of Ukraine's resilience; overs and unders.

Classic gaslighting.

(6,570 posts)kinda brain dead. I don't get it. They start a war. They have killed thousands. Yet, when they get whacked, they seem genuinely bitter over the resistance that Ukraine is showing. Like, "Whine, whine! This isn't fair!" Putin is a war criminal.
He was only looking for a way to exploit the grain situation, anyway. I don't buy that the ships attacked had anything to do with grain shipping. If it weren't for the Russians, the grain ships wouldn't need to be guarded.
Their logic is baffling. They run to the UN complaining and whining about the results of their aggression, like they can't understand what is wrong. They own the responsibility of starting the war. It's all their own fault!!
Get 'em, Ukraine!
