Since where I live is so rural, they stopped actual poling places a few years ago. now there's drop boxes at all the major grocery stores and post office.

Eventually the kids always get around to doing the important things. At the last minute. After being reminded over and over. Our job is to do the reminding.

ballots only need to be postmarked by election day, not recieved, so that allows a little more room for procrastination.

Dropbox tomorrow.

Here in CA we tend to have very long ballots.

I'm not about to break my 100% lifetime voting record.

I've taken him with me to the polls since he was a tyke. In 2008 (when he was 4) he helped me "ink" the ballot for Obama, and over the years we've made that a tradition.

Now he's away at college, but we blocked out some time to go over the ballot, which he filled out on his end (and then posted).

I think I've successfully inculcated the value of voting in my son.

Today, I'm a proud papa.

I always vote as quickly as I can so that stuff stops. It takes longer for the mailers to stop than it use to though.

Oh and I'm one of the "older (56)" voters who voted early.

I know we still have time but that number seems awfully low. People need to take this seriously, even in Blue CA. We have a lot of toss up districts, like Katie Porter’s. Would hate to lose her to some RWNJ.

(after the polls close), I'll update with today's actual percentage.

Update: At the close of polls today, 59.41% or 8,500 of absentee ballots have been returned and almost 17,000 people have voted early.

are there.

We drove there tonight to see what’s going on with the drop off situation, but had to leave with our ballots since there wasn’t even a drop box. Darn. There was a man in front of me with ballots so we talked about where else to drop them off. He had just been to two specified locations and didn’t find a box. If the library doesn’t work out on Friday, we’ll drive them to the Registrar’s office.
