Another sobering thought about the election

Watching more coverage about the attack on Paul Pelosi, and how Nancy is second in line to the Presidency.

Just imagine--If rethuglicans win the House, McCarthy will be second in line to the Presidency. VP/Prez Harris would have to live in a bubble.

1. Um, if something happened to Harris, Biden would nominate a new VP

I'm not worried about the safety of either.

but if we lose the Senate, we know McConnell will not allow any VP to be approved.

They would accept Joe Manchin as VP. That's about it, since Zell Miller is no longer an option.

13. True, but they gain a Senator if Manchin becomes VP

That's a great deal for Republicans, since the Governor of WV is one of them.

So your confidence is awfully well placed.

Thanks for sorting that out for us!

14. Of course, that's assuming the Rethugs are going to wait for a new VP to be appointed.

They could literally strike the next day.

6. I was thinking more in terms of how close McCarthy would be to the Presidency

Say......if in bizarro world, Biden is impeached and removed. Harris becomes President, and appoints a new VP.

It would still put McCarthy third in line, but what kind of games would be played? How many times would rethugs impeach whoever is in the top seat?

The mind boggles with pre-election jitters.

McCarthy ever being speaker. He's a moron and the republicans know it. The job is Trump's if he wants it. He would never set foot in the place, but he may want to be in line for president.

Has managed to put himself in the same corner Boehner and Ryan did. They pandered to the loons then had no control over their caucus. And BOTH hit the door running. Anyone really think MTG and the likes are going to play nice with McCarthy? He NEEDS them to become speaker, they don't need him.

but I saw a photo (I think here) of MTG signing an autograph "Speaker of the House Marjorie Taylor Greene".

If they take the House, I would like to see her be the speaker because the shit show she would put on would insure the demise of the republican party in 2024.
