Think I’ll use it for this next week. One way or another, its message is a good one.

We usually put our Call to Action email together on Saturdays, it’s edited by Sunday, corrections made per the editor and then handing off to the publisher on Sunday, usually by mid-afternoon.

I’m the - well - head writer, for lack of anything better. So I’m “chief shepherd” all weekend as the project moves through writing to distribution.

One thing I’m constantly looking for is a good quote. Happy to say it’s a real embarrassment of riches. Sometimes I want to use more than one quote but we’ve gotta keep it to one.

I see a LOT of choice quotes week-by-week right here on DU. And I use ‘em! Like this Sonia Sotomayor quote I saw earlier today. A definite keeper!

We ain't never not made it yet!

This is an actual quote from a defiant, determined woman and, while it may cause English teachers to rend their garments, gnash their teeth, and suffer migraines, it makes perfect sense to anyone who has any ties to Appalachia.

every idiotic decision that Alito, Thomas, et al are shoving down our throats these days. What is it like for her, for Elena Kagan, and our newest justice, Katanji Brown Jackson.

I never give up on the big stuff because I just tell myself I have to do my part. It's always something achievable.

I do give up on some things, though, but they are usually inconsequential matters where I can see the time doesn't justify the end.

though I don’t know what else people of character and integrity could do. They have to be there for when…

No matter what was behind Justice Kennedy’s retirement, it was a huge failure of duty and indicator, at best, of the wrong material.

Falling down as in failing in one way or another, or being knocked down.
Staying down can be construed as the easy way out.
Getting back up again is a test of strength and determination.

She knows she is one of three people--out of nine--who makes decisions that affect the whole country, and actually cares about the people those decisions affect. She knows that three will perpetually be two short of a majority, and that the other six will usually vote against that majority of the people (and that five always will).
