(26,044 posts)Yes, he was imprisoned (by a judge who was a supporter of Bolsonaro) to bar him from running in the previous election, but his conviction was thrown out as being politically-based.

The devastation in Ukraine aside, Iran's munitions industry's getting a sizeable boost from the missile and drone etc. sales to Putin, so I could see that being something Netanyahu might want to stub out.

(8,301 posts)Iran is the sworn enemy to Israel. I imagine Israel regardless of whose in charge eventually wouldnt mind fighting a proxy war against Iran even if it is at the disadvantage to Russia.
