We had a 100 year regime in the USA. Not just the Jim Crow regime - - the entire USA. Democracy in America did not truly begin until 1965.
We don't have to look to Germany - we need only look at how America has treated black, indiginous, Japanese, learning / physically impaired (forced sterilization as an example), guinea pigging human beings (Tuskeegee), orphan trains, child separation at the border, the sterilization against their will of immigrant women during the Trump Administration, etc. etc.
It's who we have been. They - the others - need to start being OTHERED bigly.
