There is no way they would go into a blue state when there are quite a few other states that are needed if they didn’t think it was important to come to New York.

The last poll I saw (like today or yesterday) had her up over 10 points and over that 50% threshold. Yeah, she is not leading 20 points or something but 10+ points lead seem pretty comfortable.

But, sadly, NY did elect some republican governors and mayors in the past.

Republicans are coming on strong with ads about crime in the past couple weeks. Her lead dropped to single digits. I have heard a variety of poll reports. Some have her in a dead heat with Zeldin. Others have her from 5 to 10 points ahead.

Hochul came out strong in support of abortion rights when Roe was overturned. Conservative and evangelical churches have been stirring up their members to vote against Hochul. They want a Republican who can influence the state legislature to repeal the NY law that codifies abortion rights.

Schumer is doing well.

I have heard some left and right analysts say that Hochul will probably win but it will be close.

I voted yesterday for Hochul and Schumer in a straight Dem ticket.

How our progressive governor, Phil Murphy, ended up winning by only 1 percentage point.

We in the teacher's unions were horrified because we made practically -0- gains while Christie was governor.

The last R Governor was Pataki.

Before that was Rockefeller and then Wilson, who finished out Rockefeller's term when he became Ford’s VP. That was in ‘75. It has been all Democrats since then, except for Pataki from ‘99-‘07.

The 67-year-old billionaire mayor, an independent who ran on the Republican and Independence lines, blanketed the city and airwaves with ads, spending more than $100 million of his own money to bankroll his campaign.

VP Harris, and the Clinton's were there recently. President Biden is going there Sunday. That doesn't happen for a campaign that has a comfortable lead. We are sending our biggest stars to a deep blue state in the final stretch of the election. That doesn't bode well for us. At minimum, they are seeing something in their internals that had them spooked. If Hochul was really leading by double digits, none of them would have traveled there now, they would be spending more time in swing states.

since my beloved father died of Covid two weeks ago. I will be voting blue, of course, but I feel disappointed that my party didn't do enough to stop the spread of Covid. The vaccination only approach didn't work and thousands of Americans are still dying every week. I mean, no mandatory masks on public transportation or doctor's offices? That's crazy! It absolutely disgusts me. But I certainly don't want a republican governor so I will do my duty as a lifelong democrat. I'm just really sad about things right now.

And I feel the same way as you, my father also, and I consider it a murder on many levels. I cannot stand the insanity of this country anymore for too much longer. And of course I will always be voting against fascism and for what is best for everybody here.

And when I hear of people saying they’re not going to vote for some narcissistic reason or they’re not getting what they want, I think look at what is happened to me and everything I have lost, policies that hurt my family and my father being murdered, and I’m still voting the right way and I’m still voting. Those people do not deserve to be here, and they don’t deserve to have anything they have, they are so ungrateful… I don’t care what happens to them anymore to be honest, but they don’t have the right to hurt me and other good people who do the right thing. I think where do you get off complaining about anything and doing that?
