...I'm furious that they must wait for hours to vote.

It's the result of the efforts of Texas Republicans to put rules in place to suppress the youth vote.

Working for the Kaine campaign. I drove a woman to vote. We step in the elementary school and I can see the voting machines right inside the gym/cafeteria. The poll worker gestures for us to go to our left. The line was down at least a 50 yard hall and 1/2 way back up the other side. It took 90 minutes. I saw the editor of the big local paper and very frankly asked if this didn’t deserve an editorials. He had nowhere to hide and others stared lasers into him. No response. No editorial.

The link shows only a partial story of the magnitude that goes to other Universities. I am not sure of the American's with Disabilities Act as being the "sole" reason.

https://www.mysanantonio.com/news/local/article/ut-austin-polling-location-closes-17503807.php

It's difficult enough to get college students registered and to the polls on election day, and at UT Austin, it's about to become a more arduous task. This year, a main polling location for Texas students, the Perry Castañeda Library (PCL), will be unavailable as a polling place because it does not meet American Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.

On Tuesday, October 11, the Travis Country Commissioners Court, with works with the Department of Justice on polling location compliance, noted that the PCL — alongside 50 other county polling locations — is not ADA compliant. In response, the university has opened a new polling station at the LBJ School of Public Affairs.

Texas A&M commentary:

When Brazos County officials removed an early-voting location off Texas A&M University’s campus — a decision that spurred accusations of student voter suppression — at least one county commissioner cited poor voter turnout as a partial reason for the relocation.

But data shows it was one of the county’s most popular early-voting sites in recent general elections.
