There is rampant antisemitism, racism, Holocaust denial, homophobia, and transphobia on the site. Oh, and thirteen percent of the content is porn. What happens when the CEO's bring the receipts and say they can't underwrite this dreck with our ad dollars?

(53,032 posts)It's the fact we live in a capitalist system, and SCOTUS are guardians of that system. It's not like SCOTUS' supporting corporations benefits average folks.

(16,387 posts)One where there were norms. Were on to the next war, where there are no norms. And besides, the GOP has been turning on corporations for a while now, with the possible exception of the oil and gas industry. I hear republicans railing against woke corporate America all the time. Doesnt sound pro corporate America to me. And theres no reason to believe The Council of 6 will stem that tide. Probably the opposite. The SCOTUS is an entirely political entity now.

I agree with most of your post, but I don't think you can ignore that, absent nationalization, no dictator obtained & retained power without big business on their side.

(14,967 posts)don't currently advertise on Twitter to NEVER break the seal, no matter how cheap ads get in the future. Their threats are flashing lights and blaring klaxons screaming "It's a trap!" Why the fuck would a company put their head in that noose?
I cannot imagine a stronger disincentive to entering into business with a company than a threat that Republicans in Congress will make your company a FOXNews talking point if you don't continue that business relationship forever, no matter what the psychopath owner and his trollish fanboys do in the future. What could go wrong?

When did that happen? They've been saying that for 45 years, but the government now knows what's best for business?
That's darned convenient.
