If Republicans win the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan is expected to chair the Judiciary Committee. But he may have lost further credibility with the press corps after a pre-election stunt received a brutal fact-check by The Washington Post.
The fact check came after Jordan and Republicans on the Judiciary Committee released a 1,050-page tome alleging politicization of the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Writing in The Post, Philip Bump analyzed the "big-stack-of-paper strategy" employed by Jordan.
"News broke early Friday: The Republican minority on the House Judiciary Committee was releasing a '1,000 Page Report' on alleged politicization of the FBI and the Justice Department. The length was mentioned in the groups tweet and in its press release, reinforcing the heft that 1,000 pages of documentation would obviously convey," he wrote. "Theres just one problem with this assertion: The report itself was less than 50 pages."

(16,254 posts)I realize most Repukes think he is the cat's pajamas, but I can't believe there are enough to reelect him. How many more years of exposure (pun intended) do we have ahead of us?

(2,150 posts)The sole point is to put the idea out there among those who have imbibed the orange Flavor-Ade that it's the Evil Stinky Libmerals what done gone and politicized the FBI & DOJ, therefore revenge politicization is entirely justified because reasons.
Doesn't matter to the Rs-end of the spectrum that a "report" devoid of evidence, credibility, facts, or any tenuous tether to reality, not any more. Aesop had it down pat, any excuse will serve a tyrant

(757 posts)the real abuse of power in DHS under the Dotard when he compiled illegal dossiers on peaceful protesters in Portland 2020.
I'm sure republicans and Gym felt they had to somehow show abuse of power by the "radical left" politicized the FBI. When in truth, again, the illegal actions were by the political hacks the Dotard implanted in DHS after getting rid of lifetime dedicated professsionals/workers in homeland security.

Attributed to Karl Rove, though he coquettishly denies it.
Trump didn't invent bullshit. He was just successful at marketing it.
